March 27 is the International Theater Day. And this means that soon it will be time to take stock of the many long-awaited festivals that took place this year in Russia. Among them are such famous as the Golden Mask and the International Festival. A.P. Chekhov.
This year is already the 19th Golden Mask. This year, the program included almost 50 performances from all over Russia. In total, the jury watched live and recorded six hundred performances! This award is not in vain called the main theater show of the country. Within the framework of the festival, the project “Premieres of the Mariinsky Ballet” will take place, so it’s better to leave a ticket for Giselle’s ballet at the Bolshoi Theater for later, for now, enjoy the ballet A Midsummer Night’s Dream and the operas Tales of Hoffmann and Pelleas and Melisande. Also within the framework of the “Golden Mask” educational seminars, programs and conferences will be held. But most importantly, this award introduces the viewer to what is happening on the scenes throughout Russia. Troupes from Yaroslavl, Krasnoyarsk and other cities arrived in Moscow. Oleg Tabakov will present his own prize to directors, playwrights and actors. This year, he noted almost twenty people, including Lyudmila Petrushevskaya, Alexey Kravchenko, Kirill Serebrennikov. The award ceremony will take place in the portrait lobby of the Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov.
For the eleventh time will be a festival to them. A.P. Chekhov. Every year, all fans of all the most unusual and non-standard that is happening in theatrical life around the world are looking forward to it. In 2013, the audience will be presented to the works of participants from England, France, Canada, Spain, Taiwan, etc. I especially want to note the work of troupes that do not have a big world name, but have bright and unusual ideas. For example, the 1927 team from the UK will show the play “Animals and Children Occupy the Streets,” which is defined as a “musical and inventive genre.” The miracle of theatrical art called the play “Shadows” of the Portuguese theater Sau-João. As part of the project, the Broadway musical Fela! Will arrive in Moscow. As always, the work of the Laboratory of Young Directors will take place.
In 2013, young spectators will not be ignored. First of all, it is for them that such festivals will be held as: “Fairytale World”, “Big Break” and “Gavrosh”. All these events are aimed at educating the viewer for a future adult theater from childhood. And although children can not always appreciate such an event as ordering tickets to the Bolshoi Theater and going there with the whole family, years later they will carry memories of this magical moment.
